Rachael Teeter -- "Just a Sound"

Image
Just a Sound "Just a Sound" explores the  emotional and physical realities  of pulsatile tinnitus through  animation and an interview with  Yvonne Mart who has dealt with  it since 2013.   --  RACHAEL TEETER

Kylie Lydon -- "Mothers and Fathers

Image
Mothers and Fathers “Mothers and Fathers” is a poetic documentary looking at what a family looks  like and how family might look in the future.  For this piece, I am using family home  videos, family photos, and found footage.  My film takes a look at my parent’s  childhood, starting with footage and then  goes on to an interview segment with my  parents.  -- Kylie Lydon

Zhixuan Lyu -- "Looking"

L ooking "This film consists of clips that have no specific meanings. These  clips involve my daily surroundings, routines, and discoveries in  everyday life. I have always been interested in using art to express  the mundaneness in life. These ordinaries are things closes to real  life in screen arts, and things I feel most easily resonate with.  However, everyday objects are commonly forgotten because they  are so accessible to us. I am afraid of getting used to an  environment or routine. I am afraid of taking everything for granted  and feel that life is nothing but repetitiveness. This film takes the  audience into the ordinary life of me in the last bit of my senior  year and tries to awaken the audience’s sense towards the most familiar things."  -- ZHIXUAN LYU

Nicole Bacher -- "Something Ancient"

Image
Something Ancient "Dungeons and Dragons - a tabletop roleplaying game, for those who don't know - is a huge part of my life. It is the reason why I met my best friends, it's what's kept us together for all these years, and it's what keeps bringing us together even though we're so many miles apart. It's also my greatest source of inspiration, which is why I decided to create an animatic (animated schematic) of the events which took place during a D&D session. Our Dungeon Master, Ian Findling, wrote this for one of our games, and with his permission I adapted his original script and animated a storyboard representing how I would bring it to life. Something Ancient follows the experiences of Funnell, an old gnome woman, who is sent on a magical dream-like experience from the creation of the universe to her childhood and the loss of her druidic clan."  --   NICOLE BACHER

Anny Dai -- "missing pieces"

Image
missing pieces "Missing pieces is an experimental film based on a monlogue that consists of memories, dreams, and reflections on the protagonist’s teenage experience. It is her exploration of self under the influence of her family, and the attempt to heal from past trauma while navigating the relationship with her mother as an adult."  -- Anny Dai
